Betty Drury Hilton, 80, ascended to her heavenly home on 9-2-2023, in the presence of her loved ones. Born May 16, 1943 as the first born child of John Woodrow Drury and Effie Mae Carter Williams, she leaves behind four children, Mitchell Hilton, Sharon Hilton (Kenneth), John Hilton (Beth), and Josh Hilton, twelve grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 3 remaining siblings, Allen “Pedro” Drury (Diane), and Barbara Drury Kramer (Tom), Tony Dean Drury (Theresa) and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, grandson Dilan Zane Hilton, granddaughter Ciara Hilton McInvale, brother Allen “Bo” Drury, sister Debra Drury Herndon, brother John Woodrow Drury Jr, and sister Kara Lynn Lewis. Born and raised at Coggin Still, Betty was a member of Winokur Baptist Church and had resided in Folkston, GA (mainly the Racepond area) all of her life. She enjoyed spending time with her family, looking for arrowheads, playing cards, NASCAR racing, FL Gators, Dwight Yoakum, Kid Rock, and fishing in her pond. She was a hard working woman who loved her children, family, friends, and the Lord. She had battled lung cancer since March 2017 and fought a valiant fight.
Visitation will be under the direction of Shepherd Roberson Funeral Home in Folkston, GA. Visitation will be at the Funeral Home on Sept 5, 2023 from 6 pm to 8 pm. Funeral will be held Sept 6, 2023 at 11 am at the Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside services will be held immediately afterwards in Homeland Cemetery. Pallbearers will be James Hilton, CL Lewis, Michael Jones, Willard Turner, Brandon Cox, Kenneth Mitchell. Honorary Pallbearers will be grandsons Cody Rewis and Zeke Hilton.
