Betty Geiger Banister

Betty L. Geiger Banister, 84, of Hilliard, Florida passed away on Thursday, December 15, 2022. She was born in Hilliard, Florida on June 11, 1938 to the late Bert Geiger, Sr. and Rosa Mizell Geiger. Betty was a member of Smoke Rise Baptist Church in Tucker, Georgia. She was raised in Buford Grove Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and played piano. She retired after 30 years in banking. She started with Citizens Bank in Folkston then moved on to Bank South in Atlanta and ended her banking career at Bank of America in 2005.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 37 years; Huey “P.L.” Banister, and 2-brothers; Troy Geiger and John W. “Tony” Geiger.

 She is survived by her brother; Bert (Annette) Geiger, Jr.; 2-sisters-in-law:  Shirley Geiger and Goldie McCullars and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00pm on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at Buford Grove Cemetery with Pastor Mike Pruitt officiating.
