Bennie Cornelius

Bennie C. Cornelius, 75 of Folkston passed away Friday, February 24, 2012 at his residence.
He was born May 19, 1936 in Nashville, Georgia to Homer and Pauline Connell Cornelius. Bennie worked with Owens Corning Fiberglass for over 40 years and was a member of North Hilliard Baptist Church.
He is survived by his children: two stepsons: Gene Manning(Liz) of Jacksonville, Florida; jerry Manning(Laura) of Hilliard; one stepdaughter: Patricia Manning of Folkston, Georgia; a daughter: Teresa Owens(Johnny) of Folkston; one son: Frank(Barbara) Cornelius of Folkston, Georgia; Five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren ;Brothers & Sisters: Dorothy Giddons, Faye(Donald) Simpson, Maxie(Charles) Tatum, Sue(Dwight) Lassiter, earl(Cathy) Cornelius, Robert (Carolyn) Cornelius, Donald(Billie) Cornelius, Harry(Nancy) Cornelius, Rudolph(Ruth) Cornelius, and David (Oneida) Cornelius;
Several nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years: Nellie; One sister: Leila Jeffords and a brother Clarence Cornelius.
The family will receive friends Sunday, February 26, 2012 from 6 until 8 PM at Shepard Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Monday, February 27, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the funeral home Chapel with Rev. Ricky Dyal and Rev. Bob Taylor officiating. Burial will be at 3:00PM at Long Bridge Cemetery, Nashville, Georgia.
