Barbara Roach

Barbara Nell Hayward Roach, 79 of Folkston, Georgia passed away August 5, 2016. She was born March 25, 1937 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Leo and Katherine Iona Pierce Hayward. She had been a resident of Folkston since 1967. Barbara loved her family and loved helping children. She collected toys and delivered them to children every Christmas and was passionate in donating to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Barbara enjoyed gardening, both vegetables and flowers. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi, Folkston, Georgia.
Survivors: Son: Steven Eugene Roach of Folkston; 6 daughters: Mary Jane Batton (Wayne) ; Kate Melton (John) ;Teresa Francis June Slaton (Jerry); Barbara Allen Johnson(Robert); Rebecca Ruth Newman (Claude); Angela Noel Chesser (Anthony), all of Folkston; Sisters: Lillian Se Strong (Gordy) Indianapolis, Indiana; Patricia Ann Goodman of Danville, Indiana; aunt: Margie Hayward of Indianapolis, Indiana; 83 grands and great-grands; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Paul Roach, Sr.; 3 sons: Thomas Roach, Richard Roach and Paul Roach, Jr.; a daughter: Susn Evangelena Kirton and 4 grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Monday evening at the funeral home from 6 until 8 PM.  Memorial services will be Thursday, August 11, 2016 at 11:00 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church with Father Mariusz Fuks officiating. Memorialization by cremation.
