BARBARA RHODES

Barbara Jean Rhodes, 73, of Folkston, passed away at her residence January 30, 2014.  She was born June 15, 1941 to the late Virgil Shuler and Maggie Goodson Shuler.  She was a former member of the Hilliard Town council and helped get the fireworks program started.  She retired after many years as a custodian at Hilliard Middle/Senior High School.  She was preceded in death by her husband:  Jerry Rhodes; a son:  Norman Neal Rhodes; a grandson:  Terry Lee Coppock; a great grandson:  Matthew Jerry Crews; 2-Brothers:  Billy Shuler and Charles David Shuler.
She is survived by her daughters:  Jolene (Terry) Coppock and Diane Howell; Grandchildren:  Kimberly Jean Coppock and Nichol Adkins; Great Grandchild:  Alyssa Jean Crews; Siblings:  Virgil Shuler, Jr., Sammy Clayton Shuler, Hester Ann Sales, Louise Green, Verlin Boyd Shuler, Etta Sue Teague and Mazie Jeanette Hargrove; a number of Nieces and Nephews and other relatives.
The family will receive friends Sunday, February 2 at Shepard Funeral Home in Folkston, GA from 6-8 PM.  Funeral services will be held Monday, February 3 at Shepard Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim King officiating.  Burial will follow in Live Oak Cemetery in Hilliard, FL.
