Arthur Thomas Bennett, 92 of Nicholls, Georgia passed away in Baptist Medical Center, Jacksonville, Florida January 6, 2014. He was born May 5, 1921 to Jack and Lillian Hall Bennett in Folkston, Georgia. He served his country and retired from the United States Navy. Mr. Bennett trained and showed miniature mules and also pulled wagons for the Shriner’s in parades with the tiny mules, to help raise money for the Shriner’s Burn Hospitals for children. He was of the Methodist faith.
Survivors include: one daughter: Peggy Rogers (Harold) of Nicholls, Georgia; one grandson: Brett Rogers; one granddaughter: Corrie Williams; Great-grandsons: Hunter and Steele Rogers; Great-granddaughters: Jamie Holloway and Courtney Williams; one Great-great Grandson: Trenton Eugene; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Graveside services will be Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 1:00 PM in Sardis Cemetery with Rev. Parnell Aldridge officiating.
