Anthony Lee Cason

Anthony Lee “Mickey” Cason, 76, of Jacksonville, FL, passed away on September 11, 2024. He was born in Jacksonville, FL on September 15, 1947, to the late Hansel Lee Cason and Mamie Cleo Carter Cason. Mickey was the head deacon at New Hope Baptist Temple in Jacksonville. He was also a huge Florida Gators fan.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by 4-siblings: Jim Cason, Ann Cason Dennis, Joan Cason Chavez, and Jerry Cason; 2-brothers-in-law: Bill Smith and LeRoy Chavez; and a sister-in-law: Hilda Cason.

He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years: Frances Darlene Bryant Cason; daughter: Kristie Cason Garczynski; son: Sean Cason; grandchildren: Peyton Cason, Riley Garczynski, Mackenzie Cason, and Zoe Cason; 2-brothers: Larry Cason (Gayle) and Lee “Dickey” Cason (Belinda); sister: Shirley Smith; brother-in-law: Danny Dennis; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at New Hope Baptist Temple, 9900 103rd Street, Jacksonville, FL 32210. A service will be held at 12:30 PM on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at New Hope Baptist Temple with Pastor Jimmy McMillan officiating. Burial will be at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at Traders Hill Cemetery in Folkston, GA.
