Amos Brown

Amos Merrill Brown “Pete”, 78 of Folkston, Georgia passed away Monday, June 03, 2013 at Life Care Center of Hilliard.  He was born August 20, 1934 to John Houston and Magnolia Annette Merrill Brown in Green County, Mississippi. He had been a resident of Folkston since 1973 and was a member of Philadelphia Free Will Baptist Church.

Survivors include; His wife of 57 years: Sarah Elizabeth(Liz) Stuart Brown of Folkston, Georgia; One Son: Joseph (Jerry) Brown (Janet) ; One daughter: Nola Rebecca(Becky) Salko(Pete); Eight Grandchildren: Jeremy Cartrette(Tiffany); Tresca Rowell(Barry); John Brown(Shallynn); Jason Cartrette(Victoria); Justin Cartrette(Melissa); Brandi Rhoades(Brian); Ryan Brown & Danielle Brown; Eleven Great-grandchildren: Kara & Kyler Prescott; Zoe Cartrette; Lily & Trinity Cartrette, Bryan,  Andrew & Lucas Brown, Jaden & Kate Rhoades, Hayden Cartrette; Brothers and Sisters: L.R. Brown(Mellie); Jimmie Brown(Eula Mae); Ellaweese Rushing(Henry); Margie Milstead(Clarence); Bethel Cagle (Merlin); Mary Stuart (Jessie); Evelyn Grantham (Jake), all of Mississippi and a host of Nieces, Nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by his Mother and Father: One Son: Fredrick Houston (Ricky) Brown; One Brother: John Preston Brown;, Three Sisters: Willamae Powell(Julius); Mildred Floyd(Quinton); Lafaree Rhodes(Vardeman).

The family will receive friends Thursday, June 6, 2013 from 6 until 8 PM at Shepard Funeral Home. A Celebration of his life will be Friday, June 7, 2013 at Philadelphia Free Will Baptist Church at 11:00 AM with Rev. Parnell Aldridge officiating.  Burial will follow in Sardis Cemetery.
